The Cinergia B2C+ ePlus series is a modular, bidirectional and fully regenerative DC test platform for research, development and industrial testing. It enables energy flow in both directions – as a precisely controllable source or active sink – and efficiently feeds excess energy back into the grid. With a power factor > 0.98 and a THDi < 3 %, it ensures clean grid operation with high energy efficiency.

Typical application fields include battery testing and emulation, PV source emulation, charging infrastructure testing, DC/DC and DC/AC converter development, energy storage systems, avionics, smart grid simulations and power-hardware-in-the-loop (P-HiL). The series covers outputs from 7.5 kW to 160 kW at standard voltages of 20 – 800 V DC and can be extended up to 1,500 V or over 1 MW system power via master/slave coupling.

The B2C+20 is a compact and powerful model in the mid-range of the series. It offers an excellent combination of high current capability, efficiency and flexibility, making it ideal for development and test tasks where dynamic behavior, precise control and reliable power supply are required.

Technical classification compared to other models

With an output of 20 kW and a current capability of ±90 A, the B2C+20 is positioned as a balanced model between the compact laboratory version B2C+15 (±67.5 A) and the more powerful B2C+30 (±135 A). It offers sufficient reserves for applications with medium-sized battery stacks, inverter tests or grid simulation tasks where fast control and precise behavior are required.

Compared to the high-performance models (from B2C+40 upwards), the B2C+20 impresses with its smaller footprint, simpler integration and lower grid connection power - with the same functionality and software platform. Thanks to identical control behavior and master/slave compatibility, it can also be operated in larger system connections with other B2C+ units.
