The Cinergia B2C+ ePlus series is a modular, bidirectional and regenerative DC platform for laboratory, validation and end-of-line tests. Thanks to the regenerative topology, energy consumption and connected load in the test field are reduced. The devices work as a source and as a load, provide clean grid currents (THDi < 3 %, power factor > 0.98) and cover two or four quadrants depending on the configuration.
Typical applications: Battery testing and characterization, battery emulation, PV panel emulation, renewable energy, energy storage systems, electromobility and charging infrastructure, traction converters, avionics, smart grid and IEC compliance testing and power-hardware-in-the-loop (P-HiL).
The series comprises 13 models from 7.5 kW to 160 kW (rated power, with overload reserves of up to 200 % for short periods) and covers 20 - 800 V DC as standard. Power and voltage expansions are possible via master/slave connections (up to 8 units) - parallel, serial or serial/parallel - up to applications with up to 1,500 V DC. Depending on the mode, the three buck-boost channels allow 3-channel operation with independent setpoints or 1-channel operation with tripled current capability.
The B2C+10 is the 10 kW all-rounder in the series - ideal when 800 V DC range is required and tests frequently switch between source and sink. It offers:
Within the compact class (7.5 - 30 kW), the B2C+10 already offers ±45 A in 1-channel mode and is therefore higher than the B2C+7.5 (±30 A), but lower than the B2C+15 (±60 A), B2C+20 (±75 A) and B2C+30 (±90 A). The voltage range is identical across the entire series up to 800 V; differences primarily result from the current and therefore performance.
Compared to the high-performance variants (40 - 160 kW), the B2C+10 scores points with its more compact design and lower mains connection power, while the large models provide significantly higher currents (e.g. B2C+100: up to ±390 A in 1-channel mode). For larger test benches, the B2C+10 can be scaled via master/slave with up to 8 units (parallel/serial) to expand the power or voltage window - including coordinated control via the software.
