The XJTAG XJA-0002 Clock Buffer Adapter was developed to rebuffer the SPI clock signal from an XJLink-FE18 Programming Engine and increase its drive capability.
The additional buffering allows the clock signal to drive higher-impedance terminations while still maintaining the required input voltage levels at the flash device’s clock input. This makes the adapter particularly suitable for demanding programming environments and high-speed assemblies.
The XJA-0002 is connected to the programming engine via the XJA-0006 adapter board supplied with the XJLink-FE18. While the SPI clock signal is specifically rebuffered, all other signals are passed through unchanged.
Typical applications:
The adapter is particularly suitable for flash devices with 50-ohm termination whose bias voltage is half the supply voltage. In addition, it can also be used in other circuit designs with strong clock termination. Such terminations are frequently used on high-speed printed circuit boards where the Flash clock must operate at very high frequencies.
