The PCI-8512 module is a high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) interface card with flexible data rate (FD) for application development with the NI-XNET driver. The PCI-8512 card is particularly suitable for applications where hundreds of CAN frames and signals need to be manipulated in real time and at high speeds, such as hardware-in-the-loop simulations, rapid control prototyping, bus monitoring, automation control and many more. With the NI-XNET DMA engine, the onboard processor can transfer CAN frames and signals between interfaces and the user program without CPU interrupts. This reduces message latency and frees up processor time for processing complex models and applications.
