Description

779891-03 | NI 9870, serial RS232 module with 4 connections, protective coating

The NI-9870 module can be used to add RS-232 serial ports to CompactRIO systems. The serial ports can be accessed directly from the FPGA, which provides flexibility when communicating with serial devices. The module has individual buffers on each connector that save space on the FPGA and allow for easier programming. The NI ‑ 9870 supports default settings for start bits, stop bits, and handshaking. It uses an external power source for maximum compatibility and reliability.
