The PHU series from GW Instek stands for modern high-performance DC voltage sources that have been specially developed for use in research, development and industrial test environments. Thanks to the use of silicon carbide (SiC) technology, the devices offer a compact design with high power density. The multi-range-capable output characteristic enables flexible voltage and current combinations within one device, allowing a wide range of applications to be covered with just one model.
General features of the series:
- Multi-range output: Flexible voltage and current combinations for different test scenarios with a single device.
- Advanced Web Server (AWS): Browser-based control without additional software.
- Adaptive Parallel Connection (APC): Parallel connection of up to 10 devices for a total output of up to 150 kW.
- Comprehensive interfaces: LAN, USB (type A/B), EtherCAT, CANopen, Modbus, Profinet, DeviceNet.
- Safety and convenience functions: CV/CC priority, bleeder circuit, slew rate control, resistance simulation, panel lockout.
The PHU 1000-30-D model is the most powerful single device in the series with 30 kW output power and a maximum output voltage of 1,000 V. This makes it ideal for applications with high power requirements, particularly in the field of electromobility and energy generation. Typical areas of application include:
- Testing powerful e-motor inverter systems up to 1.000 V
- Load tests and simulation of fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles
- High-voltage tests on PV modules and strings in solar test centers
- DC link simulation in test benches for inverters and battery management systems
- Automated test systems in the series production of high-voltage systems
