Description

P01120948 | F404T Multi-range clamp meter for PV systems, 4-digit display, TRMS, 1000 / 1500 A AC/DC, 1200 / 1700 V AC/DC

The F404T from Chauvin Arnoux is a high-performance AC/DC multi-purpose current clamp designed for the safe testing, maintenance, and diagnosis of photovoltaic systems. A particular focus is on reliably verifying the absence of DC current in module strings. To this end, the device features a patented Autocheck function that allows users to verify the proper operation of the current clamp before performing any work.

In addition to measuring DC and AC currents as well as DC and AC voltages, the F404T is suitable for testing frequency, resistance, continuity, diodes, and temperature. The included Type K thermocouple, for example, enables spot temperature measurements on the back of photovoltaic modules. This allows the clamp meter to be used both for safety checks prior to maintenance work and for monitoring an operational PV system.

The fast 12-bit TRMS digital measurement method enables precise measurements even with varying signal waveforms. Additional analysis functions such as Min/Max, ΔREL, and True Inrush support the diagnosis of overcurrents, motor starting currents, and load profiles. Automatic AC/DC detection, the easy-to-grip rotary switch, and the design optimized for one-handed operation make it easy to use in the field—even while wearing protective gloves.

For professional field use, the F404T offers electrical safety up to 1000 V CAT IV or 1500 V CAT III, an IP54 protection rating, and a rugged design that passes a standard drop test from a height of two meters.
