Teledyne FLIR Exx-Series Expert Thermal Imaging Cameras.

Increase the efficiency of inspections.

The powerful Exx-series thermal imaging cameras with pistol grip provide all essential functions to quickly detect hotspots and potential faults at an early stage.

The precise laser-assisted autofocus and FLIR’s innovative optics deliver razor-sharp images and, consequently, highly accurate temperature measurements. From the waterproof, rubberized housing to the scratch-resistant Dragontrail™ glass LCD, the Exx series is designed for use in harsh environments.

These models are ideal for rapid fault diagnostics of electrical distribution systems and mechanical equipment, helping to prevent system failures, enhance operational safety, and maximize system availability.

Innovative MSX® Technology.

Exx-series cameras feature integrated image enhancement with FLIR’s detail-rich MSX® technology, allowing thermographers to immediately identify and locate problems. MSX® improves the structure of a thermal image (right), enabling faster detection of anomalies. Edges, contours, and labels become clearly visible and readable.

The Ultimate Resolution – UltraMax®.

UltraMax® allows you to increase the resolution of native thermal images for greater clarity and improved temperature measurement accuracy. UltraMax® is an image enhancement technique that produces images with four times more pixels than standard images and 50% less noise, enabling detailed zoom-in on distant small targets for highly accurate measurements.

UltraMax® enhances images with four times the pixel count and double the resolution. With up to four times more pixels in the target area, UltraMax® enables a more detailed analysis of smaller components. The increased pixel density not only improves image quality but also maintains accurate scaling at greater distances for higher measurement precision. Small or distant objects can be detected more clearly.

For example, a camera with a detector resolution of 320 × 240 pixels (top image) can generate images in 640 × 480 pixels (bottom image) using UltraMax® super-resolution. The UltraMax® super-resolution technology is available in the Exx series, as well as in the T500, T800, and T1020 series.

AutoCal™ Lenses.

The E76, E86, and E96 models are compatible with all AutoCal™ interchangeable lenses. The camera automatically detects when a new lens is mounted and starts the calibration process. Available optics include:

  • 14°, 29 mm Telephoto Lens: Narrow field of view for sharp focus on distant objects.
  • 24°, 17 mm Standard Lens: 24° × 18° FOV allows users to maintain a safe distance (e.g., 10 ft / 3 m) from energized equipment while still capturing small targets with sharp detail.
  • 42°, 10 mm Wide-Angle Lens: Largest field of view for inspecting buildings, roofs, or other large areas where maximum coverage in a single image is important.
  • 24°/14°, 17/29 mm Dual FOV Lens (FlexView™ DFOV): Switch between wide 24° FOV for scanning large areas and narrow 14° FOV with 2.8× higher pixel density for detailed analysis. Switching is controlled via software.

Regular inspections increase system reliability and prevent unplanned downtime. High-detail thermal images help manufacturing and plant inspectors identify overheated equipment immediately, allowing them to pinpoint issues, perform repairs, and avoid failures.

Recommended models: E76 / E86 / E96

Conduct thorough examinations, prevent equipment failures, and ensure safety with routine inspections. Cameras offering higher detector resolution allow maintaining a safe distance when inspecting potentially hazardous targets.

Recommended model: E96

Improve energy efficiency by detecting insulation gaps, roof leaks, and HVAC deficiencies. Quickly identify repair needs and document damage extent with easy-to-read thermal images, saving time in problem detection.

Recommended models: E52 / E54 / E86
