All-Round AC/DC Test Systems.

The regenerative and programmable power converters, grid simulators, electronic loads, and all-in-one solutions from Cinergia Power Solutions are among the few on the market that are fully regenerative, highly programmable, and optimized for complex test environments in e-mobility, renewable energy, or smart grids.

Product Series.

Grid simulators (GE) are voltage sources in 4Q mode in AC or AC/DC (GE+) that emulate electrical AC networks with both normal conditions (voltage, frequency, phase angle, etc.) and fault conditions (voltage dips, frequency variations, voltage fluctuations, flicker, etc.).

The programmable electronic loads (EL) are power supplies in 4Q mode in AC or AC/DC (EL+) that are used to emulate the electrical load behavior of passive and active devices.

The bidirectional DC converter (B2C) is a DC sink/source in 2Q mode for generating a controlled DC source or load. Its multi-channel flexibility, high resolution, and dynamics make this device suitable for numerous applications.

The all-round AC/DC power converter combines a grid simulator, electronic load, and bidirectional DC converter (GE&EL+) in a single product. The all-in-one power converter combines an AC grid simulator and an electronic AC load in a single housing without any restrictions. 

The rack series, designed for 19-inch cabinets, combines expertise in a compact and highly efficient 7U device, while the ePlus cabinets offer a fully integrated and stand-alone solution.

Regenerative

Energy-recoverable Hardware

Thanks to their bidirectional topology, all Cinergia products are energy-recoverable, which reduces both the energy consumed during testing and the power required by the electrical installation. This technology allows us to work in both directions, as a power generator or as a consumer, for performing all types of tests. The energy supplied is not wasted as heat, but is fed back into the grid cleanly. This saves massive operating costs and reduces cooling requirements.

Mixed Mode

Innovative Mixed Mode with SiC RSe

The SiC RSe introduces a groundbreaking new feature that is unique among power converters and enables multiple tests to be performed simultaneously – the Mixed Mode. This capability optimizes the use of test resources and offers unparalleled flexibility in complex scenarios.



With Mixed Mode, you can now set up any function on any channel and combine the functions according to the requirements of your test application. Set up each channel independently and use all functions simultaneously. This important feature enables independent and simultaneous operation of the network simulator, electronic load, and bidirectional DC functions, combining all functions in a single, versatile device. Currently, only the compact GE&EL AC/DC SiC-RSe is equipped with this function.

Modern Control System

Cinergia products feature a proprietary control platform and control firmware, which are key to the flexibility and performance of the converters. For alternating current, voltage or current is controlled by state-of-the-art digital signal processors. For direct current, PID controllers are combined with fast feedforward controls and saturation blocks for safety. The three Power SIC or IGBT output branches are controlled independently of each other, allowing a separate operating mode and/or setpoint for each channel. 

The core of the control platform consists of 32-bit floating-point DSPs, which operate deterministically. 

This means:

  • Same input ➜ same output
  • Same load ➜ same response time
  • No random ➜ delays

Oversampling means that the signal is sampled more frequently than required by Nyquist. This reduces quantization noise and increases the ENOB (Effective Number of Bits). In practical terms, this means:

  • More precise measurements
  • Better representation of small signal changes
  • Higher accuracy without additional costly hardware
  • More robust measurements

An oversampling technique via the feedback or measurement signals ensures high resolution and accuracy while also providing high output dynamics.
