The Cinergia GE+ vAC/DC series comprises 13 models from 7.5 kW to 160 kW and offers "Same Power in AC and DC". Each device can freely specify grid characteristics such as voltage, frequency, phase angle and (inter)harmonics up to the 50th order per phase; THDi on the grid side < 3 % at cos φ > 0.98 ensures a clean feed-in. The 30 kHz control loop and extensive interference profiles (including IEC 61000-4-11/-13/-14/-28, LVRT, SEMI-F47) enable reproducible tests. Applications range from electromobility & charging infrastructure to energy storage, PV/PV emulation, smart grids and power HiL.

  • Generation of global grids: 3-phase/1-phase/split-phase, independent phase parameters incl. harmonics & ramps.
  • Disturbance & standard tests: Dips, flicker, frequency jumps, (inter-)harmonics; editor & ready-made IEC profiles (pre-compliance).
  • DC multichannel: Up to three independent bidirectional DC channels (common ground), CV/CC/CP/CR modes, battery test/emulation & PV emulation optional.
  • Regenerative & parallelizable: regenerative for energy recovery; master/slave via FO for power/voltage increase.
  • Operation & integration: 4.3″ touch, open Modbus TCP interface (LAN), analog/digital I/Os, data acquisition.

Variant in focus: GE+ 7.5 vAC/DC

The entry-level model in the series delivers 7.5 kW with identical AC/DC rated power. In AC, the rated current is 11 A (3-channel operation) or 33 A (1-channel parallel mode). In DC, ± 10 A (3-channel) and ± 30 A (1-channel) are available. The compact housing measures approx. 770 × 450 × 1100 mm and weighs around 155 kg - ideal for laboratories with limited space.

Comparison with the other models in the series

  • Power/scaling: While the 7.5 kW model is predestined for individual test benches, development and training, higher models up to 160 kW cover power HiL, e-drive and EOL tests; several devices can be linked via master/slave.
  • Currents: The rated currents increase with the power (e.g. 10 kW: 15/45 A AC; ± 15/± 45 A DC; 40 kW: 58/174 A AC; ± 40/± 120 A DC). For power-intensive load profiles, the larger versions have the advantage.
  • Design: Models up to 60 kW share the more compact 1100 mm height format; from 80 kW, larger cabinets are used - relevant for floor space/logistics.
  • Functionality: Software features, mains/DC ranges and standard libraries are comparable throughout the series; optional battery/PV emulation and multi-channel DC are available ex works (multi-channel option from ≥ 80 kVA separately).

  • Harmonic: Up to 50th order per phase (50 independent, incl. 20 freely programmable frequencies/phases).
  • DC output: CV (20...750 V; option up to 800 V), CC (0...± 110 % Irated), CP (0...± 200 % Prated), CR (0.1...1000 Ω); rise times typ. 1-2.5 ms.
  • Overload capacity: AC up to 200 % (2 s), 150 % (1 min), 125 % (10 min); DC up to 110 % (1 min).
  • Control & dynamics: 30 kHz control loop; small signal bandwidth up to 5 kHz (AC).
  • Efficiency (mains side): ≥ 89 % (7.5/10 kW), ≥ 91 % (15-30 kW), ≥ 92 % (40-160 kW).
  • Interface & Software: 4.3″ touch, open Modbus TCP interface (LAN), isolated analog/digital I/Os, PC GUI, sequencer/steps editor, data logging.
  • Standards & safety: CE; EN-50178/EN-62040-1 (safety), EN-62040-2 (EMC), RoHS; emergency stop & interlock.
