The Chroma 52403P-25-10 is a high-precision PXI Express Short Pulse Source Measure Unit (SMU) designed for fast, precise and reliable source and measurement of thermosensitive devices such as high power laser diodes (LD). It integrates a high-speed pulser, a high-precision SMU and a DAQ module into a single PXIe SMU, enabling both LIV and low-level leakage current measurement of high-performance LDs.

The excellent high slew rate design allows the Short Pulse SMU 52403P to output 10A/10uS pulses and 1A/5uS pulses, which protect the laser diode from self-heating.

The SMU module of the 52403P is equipped with 16 selectable control bandwidths to ensure fast and stable output, which can meet different DUT impedance requirements and avoid oscillation. Multiple current measurement ranges with 18-bit DAC and 18-bit ADC provide high resolution and accuracy with a sampling rate of up to 100 kS/s.

With the built-in 2 MS/s DAQ (Data Acquisition), the Chroma 52403P can measure the voltage signal of high-speed photodiodes via a TIA (Transimpedance Amplifier) with its own SMU, simplifying test system integration and reducing development time.

The 52403P features a patented hardware sequencer that has deterministic timing to control the SMU output. The sequencer's memory can store up to 8192 sequencer commands and a total of 8M measurement samples.
