The XJTAG ICT-0010 is a relay module for safely switching JTAG/TAP control signals between two test or programming devices and a unit under test (UUT). It allows both an XJTAG XJLink2 controller and another test or programming device to be connected to the same TAP signals. In doing so, the instrument that is not currently active is completely isolated from the circuit board. In addition to the active signal lines, the ground connection is also switched, ensuring comprehensive galvanic isolation of the signal paths.

When de-energized or not actively controlled, the ICT-0010 connects Instrument 1 to the UUT by default. When the XJLink2 control signal is activated, the relay board switches to Instrument 2. After the XJTAG test is complete, the module automatically returns to its initial state. This makes it particularly suitable for combined test setups in which boundary-scan tests, in-circuit tests, bed-of-nails tests, or programming processes are performed sequentially on the same circuit board.

Connectors of different designs prevent incorrect assignment of the UUT, XJLink2, and external instrument. Relay switching is controlled by default via Pin 1 of the XJLink2 connector and can be configured within an XJDeveloper project. For custom test adapters, control can also be shifted to other connector pins by appropriately adjusting the resistor configuration.
