The Sefram DAS1800-SYNC data logger is equipped with a GPS-IRIG receiver to record synchronous time stamps along with the measurement data.
The benefit of GPS and IRIG time code is precise, synchronized time measurement across multiple systems and locations to accurately correlate data. GPS provides the highly accurate time reference (often atomic), and IRIG time code is the standard format in which this time information is sent as a serial data stream to synchronize devices in areas such as energy, defense, aerospace and telecommunications.
The data logger has 10 slots and can therefore be configured for a variety of applications. The data logger is available with 3 different input modules with 4 or 8 channels (see below). Capture data from any sensor with a voltage or current output (with shunt), or directly measure voltage, resistance or temperature with thermocouples or resistance temperature detectors (RTDs).
The DAS1800 can measure and record up to 40 channels at 1 MSa/s/ch, making it ideal for capturing fast-changing signals and transients. For slowly changing parameters, the D18-MUX8 multiplex module offers 8 inputs per module (up to 80 channels per system).
The Sefram DAS1800 features a 15.6-inch full HD touchscreen display for easy setup and visualization of real-time or recorded data. The DAS1800's intuitive user interface makes it easy to use with a variety of time-saving features such as one-finger scrolling, pinch and zoom and an integrated sensor library.
The DAS1800-BAT-SYNC variant presented here enables PTP via Ethernet and expands the DAS1800 base unit with hardware to support IRIG and GPS synchronization. This variant can be operated via the battery.
Features and benefits of these options:
- IRIG (hardware option) - B122 / B126: IRIG synchronization is based on the reception of a signal via a coaxial cable. As soon as this cable is connected, the device automatically detects its presence and starts the synchronization process. The device is compatible with 1 kHz modulated IRIG signals.
- GPS (hardware option): Devices equipped with this option have a special SMA connector on the top of the device for connecting the GPS antenna supplied with the option.
- PTP Precision Time Protocol (software option): The IEEE 1588v2 PTP protocol enables time synchronization via the Ethernet network. Once activated, this function enables the device to automatically synchronize with a PTP source in the network.
