Description

PV:1525-IV Package | Tester for Electrical Safety and Characteristic Curve Measurement of Photovoltaic Systems (601A915)

The Seaward PV:1525-IV is a portable test instrument for installers, as well as operations and maintenance technicians, designed for electrical safety testing and power measurements on photovoltaic systems. It supports PV systems with voltages up to 1,500 V DC and currents up to 25 A DC, making it suitable for residential and commercial applications as well as larger utility-scale systems. Key measurement functions include testing the continuity of the protective conductor, measuring insulation resistance, measuring open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current, and performing string testing. The PV:1525-IV model expands these functions to include integrated graphical IV curve tracking as well as the calculation of voltage and current at the maximum power point and the fill factor.

An intuitive menu structure, a backlit color display, and backlit function keys facilitate convenient, guided operation. For recurring test tasks, preprogrammed auto-test sequences are available for standard-compliant safety tests according to DIN EN 62446-1 / VDE 0126-23-1, as well as customizable test sequences. In addition, a manual operating mode enables targeted diagnostic tests. The measurement data can be stored in the internal memory, organized by object, inverter, and string. Via Bluetooth, the results can be transferred to the PV:Sync mobile app, organized on-site, and then evaluated using the SolarCert software and utilized for professional test reports.

The PV:1525-IV is particularly well-suited for commissioning, periodic testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance evaluation of photovoltaic systems. For residential and commercial installations, it is designed for systems up to 1,000 V; it also supports utility-scale systems with voltages up to 1,500 V. In combination with optional accessories such as the PV:1500 Clamp, operating current and power can be measured. The SS:200LR Wireless Irradiance Meter also allows for the inclusion of irradiance and temperature data for a precise comparison with standard test conditions.
