The FireFly optically isolated high voltage probe from PMK is a leading solution for the accurate acquisition of high bandwidth differential signals at large common mode voltages. With a best-in-class bandwidth of >1.5 GHz, a wide differential input voltage range, a CMRR of up to >180 dB and a 60 kV common mode, the FireFly is the ideal measurement solution for GaN and SiC device characterization and system-level design development.
PMK's new optically isolated interface and unique compact, angled probe design are the key features that set the FireFly apart from other solutions on the market. They enable very stable and accurate measurements over a wide temperature range and easy access to measurement points in tight spaces.
The compact, angled probe design allows the use of shorter probe tip cables, resulting in measurements with higher signal fidelity and less stress on the measurement point. FireFly's wide range of probe tip connectors and accessories provide a reliable, interference-free, high-quality connection to the measurement points.
The FireFly's probe head is powered by an easily replaceable, rechargeable, industry-standard 18650 battery that provides up to 30 hours of continuous operation at room temperature. Like all PMK probes, FireFly has a universal BNC output connector and is compatible with any oscilloscope with an input impedance of 50 Ω or 1 MΩ and a 50 Ω feedthrough connector, regardless of manufacturer.
The HV probe can be controlled via the controls on the interface box or via an external interface. The "PMK Probe Control" software allows the user to control the probes remotely via a computer and provides the user with a graphical user interface. The software is free of charge and is included with the PMK PS-02 and PS-03 power supplies, which are required to power the probes.
