Description

PFA-127 | RF power/frequency analyzer up to 27 GHz, 2x400 MHz and 1x15 GHz, 14 ps resolution, TCXO time base, USB, LAN

The PFA-127 from Pendulum Instruments is a high-performance RF power and frequency analyzer designed for the precise analysis of CW and pulsed RF signals. The device combines the functions of a peak/average power meter and a frequency analyzer in a single instrument. Frequency and power can be measured simultaneously and plotted over time. With a measurement rate of up to 20 MSa/s, even very rapid signal changes can be analyzed with high temporal resolution. Gap-free zero-dead-time measurements enable seamless acquisition of successive measurement values.

In addition to RF input C with a frequency range of up to 27 GHz, the PFA-127 features an integrated two-channel 400-MHz time-interval analyzer. This allows, for example, baseband signals to be analyzed in parallel with up-converted RF signals, or external arming events to be correlated in time with RF pulses. The graphical user interface displays measurement values numerically as well as in various graph views and supports functions such as zoom, pan, and cursor analysis.

Typical applications include research and development in the microwave and RF fields, production and ATE test systems, as well as high-precision frequency and power calibrations. The PFA-127 is suitable, among other things, for analyzing FM, FSK, BPSK, PWM, and AM signals; for frequency hopping and fast frequency sweeps; and for investigating the pulse width, pulse repetition interval (PRI), frequency, and power of pulsed RF signals. Applications in radar technology, such as CW/Doppler radar, FMCW radar, and FM pulse or chirp radar, can also be analyzed with this device.

Thanks to its Ethernet interface and integrated web server, the analyzer can also be integrated into automated measurement systems or operated remotely. The large color touchscreen enables intuitive operation directly on the device; alternatively, operation via mouse and remote control through a PC is possible.
