The PXI ‑ 8512 module is a high ‑ speed CAN interface card (Controller Area Network) with flexible data rate (FD) for application development with the NI ‑ XNET driver. The PXI ‑ 8512 card is particularly suitable for applications in which several hundred CAN frames and signals have to be processed in real time and at high speeds, such as hardware ‑ in ‑ the ‑ loop simulations, rapid control prototyping, bus monitoring, Automation control and much more With the NI ‑ XNET ‑ DMA engine, the onboard processor can exchange CAN frames and signals between the interfaces and the user program without causing CPU interrupts. This leaves processor time free for processing complex models and applications.
