The Fluke Networks LinkIQ cable and network tester is the test solution for checking cable performance up to 10 Gbit / s and for solving network connectivity problems. The LinkIQ validates cable performance using frequency-based measurements and provides information about the distance to the fault along with a cable plan of the cable under test.
The LinkIQ also performs diagnostics on the nearest switch to identify critical network problems and validate the switch configuration without the use of any additional device. Other functions include analog and digital toning, port blinking, 802.1x authentication, remote office locators and the ability to manage results via LinkWare PC.
The LinkIQ is able to measure lengths of up to 1000 m and provides the distance to faults such as interruptions, short circuits and undermined cables. The use of the remote ID enables a complete mapping of the cable pairs, which enables incorrectly wired and split pairs to be identified.
The primary cable test function of the LinkIQ is the cable performance test, which qualifies the cable bandwidth from 10BASE-T to 10GBASE-T (10Mbps to 10Gbps). He performs these tests using frequency-based measurements. The use of IEEE standard-based measurements ensures that the tested connections meet the performance requirements.
Together with the robust cable test functions, the LinkIQ also provides detailed information about the next connected switch. The LinkIQ negotiates with the switch to identify the specified data rate (up to 10GBASE-T) the half / full duplex identification, the switch name, the port number and the VLAN info.
To simplify Power over Ethernet (PoE) installation and troubleshooting , the LinkIQ shows the pairs that are receiving power, including the various power levels and pairs for dual signature applications. In addition, the LinkIQ loads the connection to ensure that the advertised power is actually being delivered by the switch over the cabling infrastructure.
The LinkIQ offers complete documentation options for the tests it carries out. Up to 1,000 results can be saved in the tester with unique names and called up again. Transfer your measurement results to your PC using LinkWare PC, Fluke Networks' reporting software.
