MO57 | Non-invasive Moisture Meter

The Extech MO57 is a compact, probe-free moisture meter designed for non-destructive measurement of moisture content in wood and various building materials. The spherical sensor allows for measurements up to a depth of approximately 100 mm without damaging the surface with puncture marks. Thanks to its shape, the sensor can be guided smoothly over hard, delicate, or uneven surfaces.

The measured moisture value is shown on the display and is also categorized into low, medium, and high moisture levels using symbols. An audible signal aids in quick assessment: as moisture increases, the frequency of the beeps rises. The Data Hold function locks the current measurement value on the display, while the automatic shut-off feature helps conserve battery life.

The MO57 is particularly well-suited for renovation, remodeling, and building restoration projects. Typical applications include moisture detection in walls, ceilings, floors, tiles, and under carpet, as well as the investigation of potential consequential damage caused by water pipes or leaks. Measurements can be taken on materials such as drywall, wall panels, cardboard, plaster, concrete, mortar, and wood, among others.
