Mr. Kohler, which technological developments are currently changing the requirements for test and measurement technology in Austria?

Mr. Kohler: Requirements for test and measurement systems are increasing in virtually every area. Products are becoming more complex, development cycles are getting shorter, and many companies are now working on technologies that were barely relevant just a few years ago. This is particularly true in Austria, with its strong mechanical and plant engineering sector and numerous specialized industrial companies. In areas such as automation, robotics and power electronics, measuring individual components is no longer sufficient. The focus is now on reliably testing entire systems and effectively integrating measurement technology into the development process.

What kind of support do Austrian industrial companies expect from a test and measurement partner today?

Mr. Kohler: As technological complexity increases, so does the need for guidance. Many companies have extensive development expertise of their own but are looking for a partner who can provide application-specific, manufacturer-independent advice when selecting the right test and measurement equipment. This is exactly where we see our role. We discuss the measurement task with our customers, present different approaches to finding a solution and support them throughout implementation. Naturally, this also includes services such as calibration, technical support and training.

What does this mean for dataTec's strategy in the Austrian market?

Mr. Kohler: We are making targeted investments in expanding our local sales activities. By adding more technical contacts on site, we can support our customers faster and more directly. Where do you see the biggest technological challenges for Austrian industrial companies in the coming years? What contribution can modern test and measurement technology make?

Mr. Kohler: I believe many companies face the challenge of bringing new technologies to market-ready products more quickly. This applies to areas such as automation, robotics, energy and power electronics, as well as AI-assisted development processes and data-driven testing methods. To ensure that these innovations work reliably, they must be developed, tested and validated with precision. This is exactly why modern test and measurement technology is indispensable.
