With the PXIe ‑ 8381, PXI and CompactPCI systems can be controlled from the PC via a fully transparent MXI ‑ Express connection. It is installed in a PXI chassis and uses a PCI Express to PCI bridge to connect to an installed PCIe 8381 via an MXI Express x1 copper cable.
