The HMR series from B&K Precision comprises high-performance, multi-range (autoranging) DC power supplies with 10 kW and 18 kW output power in a compact 3 U-rack form factor. Thanks to the multi-range technology, each model can provide its rated power at different voltage/current combinations and thus replace several conventional fixed-range power supplies.
The series is designed for ATE systems (Automated Test Equipment) and laboratory/manufacturing environments where high output currents or voltages and at the same time fast control times and low noise are required. Typical areas of application include testing power electronics, drives, batteries, motors, transformers and other inductive or capacitive loads.
- Multi-range operation up to 1950 V or 360 A
- Master/slave operation with up to 1,8 MW total power (100 units in parallel)
- SiC MOSFET technology for high efficiency (up to 95%) and reliability
- Large 5-inch touch display with rotary encoders and secure output on/off button
- LXI-compliant LAN and USB interface as standard, optional GPIB and analog interface
- Configurable internal resistance for battery simulation
- Extensive protection functions: OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP, Key-Lock
- 3 U height, 200 - 415 V AC input, thermostatically controlled fans
Variant HMR130023:
The HMR130023 model is a 10 kW variant of the series and delivers up to 1300 V DC at 23 A. Compared to the other models, the HMR130023 is designed for very high output voltages at low current and is particularly suitable for testing high-voltage assemblies, DC links, insulation and breakdown tests as well as applications in research and development where a stable high voltage is required.
The other models in the series differ as follows:
- HMR80360 - 80 V / 360 A (10 kW) - high current for low voltage applications
- HMR65046 - 650 V / 46 A (10 kW) - medium voltage range with moderate current
- HMR500108 - 500 V / 108 A (18 kW) - higher power at medium voltage
- HMR195027 - 1950 V / 27 A (18 kW) - maximum voltage of the series for HVtests
