GI2K series - AC current sources for high-current tests

The AC current sources in the GI2K series are static constant current generators for very stable alternating currents over a wide load range. Depending on the version, the series covers output currents from 50 A to 20 kA and powers from 600 VA to 300 kVA. The devices operate with an adjustable output frequency of 40 to 200 Hz and support sinusoidal as well as freely definable (arbitrary) output forms. For higher test powers, systems can be synchronized (for polyphase applications) or connected in parallel (up to 1 MVA or 100 kA).

General features and possible applications

  • Developed for thermal and magnetic tests on switches, fuses, relays and trip units including precise trip time measurement
  • Thermal testing of contacts, cables and connections (junctions)
  • Tests on transformers, coils and magnetic cores
  • Testing and calibration of measuring devices
  • Sequencer timer for test sequences (e. g.B. ramps, dips, loops) with a time resolution of up to 1 ms
