The XJTAG ERX-0010 XJExtender Target Unit is part of a high-performance XJExtender system designed to reliably connect an XJTAG JTAG controller to a device or assembly under test (DUT). It was specifically designed for applications where longer transmission distances, electromagnetic interference, or increased signal integrity requirements make a direct JTAG connection difficult.
The system consists of a controller board and a target board, which are connected via a 26-pin twisted-pair ribbon cable. The controller unit is connected to an XJLink2, while the target unit establishes the connection to the DUT. Differential LVDS transmission ensures high immunity to interference and reliable signal transmission even in electrically challenging environments.
The system is particularly well-suited for larger test and production facilities, spatially separated test setups, and for use in climate chambers and other environments where the device under test (DUT) is not located immediately next to the JTAG controller. The target board is designed for ambient temperatures ranging from −40 °C to +85 °C. The system operates transparently with the XJTAG software and can therefore be retrofitted into existing test installations. Furthermore, it can be combined with other XJTAG hardware such as the XJIsolator and XJXDP.
