XJComms is a communication test card designed to expand the test coverage of an XJTAG system equipped with an XJIO board. It enables the testing of common differential bus interfaces such as CAN, RS485, RS422, LIN, and FlexRay. Both digital control signals and bus-specific interface signals can be controlled and monitored between the test card and the module under test.
XJComms can be connected directly to an XJIO board via the 20-pin IDC connector. The connector is pin-compatible with the XJIO board’s I/O interfaces and can alternatively be connected to an I/O port on the device under test that is accessible via JTAG. Test sequences are implemented using XJEase scripts, allowing the board to be easily integrated into existing XJTAG test projects. For more extensive applications, multiple XJComms boards can be used within the same project.
Applications:
XJComms is particularly well-suited for production testing, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of electronic assemblies with serial communication interfaces. CAN, LIN, and FlexRay are frequently used in automotive networks, control units, sensors, and actuators. CAN and FlexRay are also used in aviation applications. The RS485 and RS422 interfaces are suitable for industrial control systems, commercial systems, local networks, multipoint connections, and interference-resistant data transmission over long distances, among other applications.
The board is primarily intended for verifying the correct electrical connection and signal integrity of the bus-specific lines. It is not designed for full communication at maximum transmission speeds using the respective standard protocols.
