The FLIR Si2a-PD (T912643) is an industrial, stationary acoustic imaging camera with Wi-Fi for the continuous monitoring of electrical systems. Using 124 low-noise MEMS microphones, it detects and locates partial discharges, corona discharges, arcs, and other electrical anomalies. This allows for the early identification of potential defects, reduces unplanned downtime, and increases operational safety.
The camera is designed for continuous 24/7 operation and, in addition to detection, also evaluates and classifies partial discharges. An AI-based analysis automatically determines the severity and provides recommendations for appropriate measures. Automatic PRPD pattern recognition facilitates diagnosis, while the integrated 12-megapixel color camera combines acoustic measurement data with a visible camera image.
Typical applications include transmission and distribution grids, substations, and medium- and high-voltage switchgear in industrial environments. In addition, the camera is suitable for condition monitoring of gas-insulated switchgear to detect insulation degradation, moisture, or contamination at an early stage. The device can be integrated into existing monitoring and asset management systems via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, digital inputs and outputs, a REST API, and common communication protocols.
FLIR Systems is an established provider of advanced thermal imaging and infrared technologies for applications in electrical and mechanical systems, research and development, and quality control. The portfolio includes thermal imaging cameras, acoustic imaging cameras, test and measurement instruments, and automation cameras.
