The R&S RT-ZISO is an isolated probe system designed for highly precise measurements of fast-switching signals, particularly in environments with high voltages and rapid transitions.
This probe system sets new technological benchmarks for isolated probes and innovative wide bandgap (WBG) power electronics designs based on SiC and GaN semiconductors.
The R&S RT-ZISO delivers an unprecedented combination of accuracy, sensitivity, dynamic range, and bandwidth. Its Power-over-Fiber architecture galvanically isolates the device under test (DUT) from the measurement setup, achieving a significantly higher common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) than conventional differential probes. This is particularly advantageous for high-side gate measurements in complementary circuits, especially when working with wide bandgap devices.
A wide range of probe tips is available for different measurement requirements, including MMCX (Micro-Miniature Coaxial) connectors, square pins, and wide square pins. All connectors comply with safety requirements for CAT III voltages up to 1,000 V. The long, flexible probe leads allow convenient contacting of test points with minimal mechanical stress.
The isolated probe is ideal for MXO-family oscilloscopes (MXO 4, MXO 5, MXO 5C) thanks to their hardware-accelerated performance, as well as for the RTO6 oscilloscope in complex analysis tasks. Using the RT-ZISO with these oscilloscope probe interfaces is straightforward: the instrument automatically recognizes the probe and its specifications. Offset and range can be configured directly on the device. Moreover, all oscilloscope functions and features, such as high acquisition rates and responsive FFT analysis, can be fully utilized for measurements.
