With ARC detection, it is possible to detect micro-discharges in part of the insulation at an early stage. These micro-discharges cannot be detected with a high voltage test. Over time, the micro-discharges weaken the insulation system and breakdown can occur. This can sometimes take up to a few years, but can also occur after a few days.

With ARC detection, you can check the insulation quality of your products. In connection with the high-voltage test devices, the ARC detection can be carried out with the high-voltage test AC. With the high-voltage test AC alone, insulation weaknesses can be detected at very high voltages, but with the ARC detection, a fault is reliably detected. We therefore recommend performing this together with the AC high-voltage test.
