Description

PV:1525 | Testing device for the electrical safety of photovoltaic systems (601A911)

The Seaward PV:1525 is a robust handheld measuring device for installers and maintenance technicians to perform electrical safety tests and performance measurements on photovoltaic systems quickly, safely, and in accordance with standards. Typical applications include commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PV strings in residential and commercial installations. An intuitive interface with a color display, illuminated function keys, and guided navigation speeds up testing procedures. Measurement data can be stored internally and conveniently transferred to the PV:Sync Mobile App via Bluetooth. OTA updates keep the device automatically up to date.

The PV:1525 measures open-circuit voltage (Voc) up to 1,500 V DC, short-circuit current (Isc) up to 25 A DC, performs insulation resistance and protective conductor continuity tests, and supports optional accessory sensors (PV:1500 Clamp, SS:200LR Irradiance Meter) for extended power and irradiance measurements.

Product Features:

  • Measurement Functions (PV Connections): Voc/Voltage +10.0 … +1500 V DC; -10.0 … -440 V DC; 10.0 … 440 V AC – Resolution down to 0.1 V, accuracy down to ±0.5% ± 2 digits (for +DC).
  • Short-circuit current (Isc): 0.50 … 25.00 A DC – Resolution 0.01 A, accuracy ±1% ± 2 digits; max. rated power 37.5 kW.
  • Insulation resistance: Test voltage 250/500/1000/1500 V; measuring ranges down to 999 MΩ (mode-dependent); resolution down to 0.01 MΩ; accuracy down to ±5% (range-dependent).
  • Protective conductor continuity: Test current > 200 mA at 2 Ω; Measuring range 0.05 … 199 Ω; resolution 0.01 Ω. Power measurement: with PV connections and wireless current clamp up to 600 kW (resolution 0.01 kW). Safety features: Visual warning from ≥ 30 V AC/DC at the inputs; test stop from ≥ 30 V; compliant with, among others, IEC 61557-2/-4. Display & operation: 3.5″ color display (480 × 320 px) with backlight; illuminated function keys; manual diagnostic mode; guided tests. Memory & app: Internal memory for approx. 1000 data sets; Bluetooth® LE for PV:Sync Mobile (iOS/Android) including over-the-air firmware updates. Wireless interfaces: Bluetooth LE (2.402 … 2.480 GHz); additionally RF long-range (433 MHz) e.g. for SS:200LR. Power supply: 11.55 V / 2930 mAh Li-ion battery (rechargeable); automatic shutdown configurable. Dimensions & weight: 265 × 115 × 78 mm; approx. 1.0 kg. Operating environment: +5 … +40 °C; Storage -25 to +65 °C (dry, without battery); max. altitude 2000 m.
  • Protection & EMC: IEC 61010-1 CAT III / 1500 V; Protection class II; Housing protection IP40; EMC according to IEC 61326-1.
