PHVX4KV-3-S-RO | Passive HV probe PHVX series, 4000 V DC, 3.0 m, 100:1, with readout & silicone insulation

The PHVX series of passive high-voltage probes sets new standards in power electronics with the PHVX4kV, the first model designed for a 4 kV input voltage. The probes are optimized for demanding applications such as LS-VDS measurements during dual-pulse tests of high-speed switching devices based on SiC technology, IGBTs, thyristors, and fast-switching HV diodes.

The PHVX4kV guarantees precise and repeatable measurement results, allowing you to specifically optimize the efficiency and performance of your power electronics.

Thanks to their low input capacitance of <3 pF and a bandwidth of over 600 MHz, the PHVX series probes are particularly well-suited for the accurate and reliable measurement of fast-switching devices.

All variants of the PHVX4kV probes feature a universal BNC output and are compatible with all laboratory oscilloscopes that have an input impedance of 1 MΩ.

Due to their high-voltage safety requirements, the PHVX probes are not intended for handheld use or for use in fully automated or manual test stations. Instead, they are used as permanently installed voltage measurement components within a test system.

The probes stand out for their innovative and compact design. Customized contacting with high signal fidelity in various applications is ensured by the interchangeable spring tip and a wide range of high-voltage contacting accessories. Particularly noteworthy is the unique grounding ring, which can be rotated >360° and thus enables direct contact with square pin headers spaced at 5.08 mm without additional capacitive loading on the device under test, ensuring maximum signal integrity. In addition, there is a wide selection of solder adapters, BNC adapters, and other accessories for simple and secure contact with these non-handheld probes.

The PMK PHVX4kV is available with various cable lengths and configurations, optionally with or without an intelligent readout function, as well as with or without additional silicone insulation (-S) for high-power measurements. The optional read-out function (-RO) enables intelligent communication with the oscilloscope, ensuring automatic scaling on the display. The fully equipped model with the intelligent read-out function and silicone insulation is identified by the -S-RO designation in the part number.

The PHVX4KV variant presented here-3-S-RO variant presented here, like all models in the series, has a maximum input voltage of 4,000 V rms / 4,000 V pk / 4,000 V DC, an input impedance of 50 MΩ || < 3 pF, and a isolation ratio of 100:1. The PHVX4KV-3-S-RO has a cable length of 3.0 m, features a read-out function, and has silicone insulation. All models in the PHVX4kV series are also available without the read-out function and without silicone insulation.
