The PXIe-8394 enables the creation of PXI systems with multiple chassis all connected to the same computer. Using the PXIe-8394, up to eight PXI chassis can be connected in series to the same system computer, which can be a PXI controller or a PC connected to a PXI remote controller. The PXI system can also be expanded to include RAID arrays, SDR (Software-Defined Radio) devices and reconfigurable SDR devices.
