The NI ‑ 9381 was designed as a cost-effective module for general-purpose system I / O. It combines shared I / O circuitry into a single module, making it easier for designers to incorporate more functionality into a single system. The analog circuitry of the NI ‑ 9381 is based on a multiplexed architecture with a single timing engine. The maximum sample rate per channel is divided by the number of analog I / O channels used. The NI ‑ 9381 is only supported in CompactRIO chassis.
