The Spicy ONE SM from NetPeppers is a compact, wireless Tier 1 certifier for standards-compliant testing and acceptance of single-mode fiber optic cabling. The measurement system operates at 1310 nm and 1550 nm and is fully controlled via the NP-Connect app on a smartphone or tablet. All measurements, threshold values, and test results are displayed in real time and automatically compared with the stored standard specifications.
The Spicy ONE SM was developed specifically for installers, service technicians, and project managers who wish to certify single-mode fiber-optic networks in building, campus, or backbone infrastructures. In addition to precisely measuring insertion loss, the device also determines fiber length, time delay, and polarity. In AutoTest mode, up to two fibers can be tested simultaneously. The measurement results are evaluated in accordance with ISO/IEC, DIN/EN, TIA, and IEEE standards and can be documented and exported directly as a PDF report.
Thanks to interchangeable adapters, the Spicy ONE SM supports the common connector types LC, SC, FC, and ST. Various measurement modes—such as loop testing, two-point unidirectional or bidirectional measurements, and single-fiber tests—enable flexible use during installation, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing. Communication between the meter and the NP-Connect app takes place via Bluetooth. Projects, user permissions, and measurement results can be conveniently managed, as well as stored, synchronized, and shared via cloud services.
