In the EMC experimental seminar “Emitted Interference—Fundamentals & Suppression,” you will learn methods for analyzing and optimizing the EMC characteristics of circuits and devices. You will analyze circuit models, investigate near-field and far-field conditions, and develop strategies for module design and circuit sizing. Hands-on experiments will teach you the fundamental steps for noise suppression using appropriate EMC measurement instruments. Another focus is on fault analysis and practical mitigation of radiated emissions issues. You will work independently on typical test setups and implement EMI mitigation on an assembly at your lab station.
Seminar Objective:
Gain a fundamental understanding of radiated emissions from assemblies and devices; use EMC tools (e.g., near-field probes) to perform targeted and efficient measurements throughout the development process and locate RF sources on the assembly; systematically implement EMC mitigation measures on assemblies, in order to derive optimal modifications; using the insights gained in the seminar, you will be able to implement cost-effective, optimal, and EMC-compliant solutions for your development projects.
Target Audience:
Engineers and technicians involved in immunity and emissions testing throughout the development process
