Manufacturer number: GDS-3104A
The GDS-3000A series from GW Instek offers powerful 1 GHz digital storage oscilloscopes for demanding measurement tasks in development, laboratory and service. Thanks to high sampling rates, large memory depth and integrated analysis functions, these devices enable precise acquisition and convenient evaluation of fast signals - both in the time and frequency domain.
The GDS-3000A series is ideal for:
Both models of the GDS-3000A series have a bandwidth of 1 GHz and deliver a real-time sampling rate of up to 5 GSa/s (with half the number of channels) or 2.5 GSa/s with all channels activated. The memory depth is up to 200 Mpts per channel, so that even long signal sequences can be fully recorded at a high sampling rate. A fast waveform update rate of up to 200,000 wfm/s supports the reliable detection of sporadic signal events.
The devices have a large 10.2" TFT LCD with 800 x 480 pixels and offer particularly low-noise signal displays at high bandwidths thanks to the high-resolution recording mode. The segmented memory allows the recording of up to 490,000 individual segments, which can be analyzed using convenient search and zoom functions.
The input impedance can be switched between 1 MΩ and 50 Ω for flexible adaptation to different measurement tasks. Integrated cursor and search functions facilitate the detailed evaluation of voltage, time and delta values directly on the screen.
In addition to the time domain analysis, all models have a two-channel spectrum analyzer (DC to 2.5 GHz) with spectrogram function. This allows frequency spectra and their changes over time to be displayed clearly - ideal for preliminary EMC tests or the evaluation of modulation methods.
The integrated protocol support includes trigger and decoding functions for I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN. This significantly simplifies the debugging of serial bus systems, as data frames are displayed and marked directly over time.
A two-channel 25 MHz arbitrary function generator and a frequency response analysis (FRA) are integrated as standard, which can be used to record Bode diagrams or load responses, for example. For power analysis on switching power supplies, 13 specialized measurement functions are optionally available, ranging from power quality and inrush current measurements to ripple/noise and efficiency through to Bode and PSRR analyses.
The optional 16 digital channels (logic analyzer module) turn the GDS-3000A series into a fully-fledged mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO), making it ideal for combining analog and digital measurements on complex assemblies.
USB host, USB device, LAN and RS-232 are available for communication and remote control; a GPIB interface can be integrated as an option. An integrated power supply for current clamps on the side makes it much easier to use current probes in the power range.
The GDS-3104A presented here is the 4-channel, 1 GHz variant of the series. Alternatively, we recommend the sister model GDS-3102A. This variant has 2 channels.
