Features.

Power-Sink for Rapid Discharge and Shorter Test Cycles.

The Power-Sink option (PSINK) can absorb and dissipate peak power of up to 300 W and continuous power of up to 100 W, enabling a 25-times faster fall time of just 12.5 ms, even under no-load conditions.
This makes the option ideal for testing electric motors with PWM speed control that feed energy back during braking, such as those used in automotive power windows. In battery and capacitor testing, rapid discharge can also shorten test cycles and simulate operating behaviour more accurately.
The PSINK module enables the power supply to absorb energy fed back by a load, thereby stabilising the voltage across the load. This allows automated test equipment (ATE) to proceed to the next test more quickly.

PSINK is available for GENESYS+ G models with rated powers of 1.7 and 3.4 kW (output voltages: 0–20 / 30 / 40 / 60 and 100 V).

Fast-Speed for Highly Dynamic Test Simulations.

The Fast-Speed option was developed specifically for automotive applications, including hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing, engine and powertrain control systems, body control modules (BCMs), interior electronics control units and diagnostic testing. It offers particularly fast transient response, with rise and fall times of less than 1 ms and 2 ms, respectively.

The option is available for GENESYS+ G models with rated powers of 1.7 and 3.4 kW (output voltages: 0–20 / 30 / 40 / 60 and 100 V). For applications requiring particularly fast downward programming under no-load conditions, the Fast-Speed option can be combined with PSINK.

Automatic Parallel Operation.

The advanced parallel system allows multiple units to operate with dynamic response and noise levels comparable to those of a single power supply. Main and auxiliary units (master/slave) are automatically detected and configured via a data cable.

Efficient Performance.

Thanks to digital signal processing (DSP) technology and high-performance components such as ferrite materials, the series achieves efficiencies of up to 92%. Reduced heat generation enables higher rated power while maintaining reliability.

Flexible Control.

Fast response times for upward and downward programming, together with individually adjustable voltage and current slew rates, enable flexible applications. Freely definable waveform test profiles with up to 100 steps can be stored in four memory locations and recalled via the communication interfaces or front panel.

GENESYS+™ User Interface.

The Virtual Control Panel (VCP) provides convenient programming, monitoring and remote control of up to 31 units, with or without a front-panel display, through a central PC application.

  • Clear status display of relevant parameters
  • Individual unit control and global commands
  • Logging of faults, events and recoveries
  • Real-time graphical display and waveform editor with sequence save/load functionality
  • Solar mode for calculating the maximum power point (MPP)

Optional Blank Front Panel.

The display-free front panel is available for applications where neither a display nor operating controls are required, or where unauthorised changes to device settings need to be prevented. Otherwise, the blank front panel provides all standard GENESYS+ functions and features.

High Operational Safety.

The GENESYS+ DC power systems come with a five-year warranty and are equipped with protective functions as standard. They provide safe automatic restart and storage of the last device settings. The series is safety-certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 61010-1 and meets the applicable requirements for low voltage, RoHS and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), including IEC/EN 61204-3.

Typical Applications.

  • Automotive: Development and testing of vehicle electronics, control units and NVH applications (noise, vibration, harshness); HiL testing
  • Battery Technology: Battery simulation and testing under different supply conditions
  • Renewable Energy: Simulation of fluctuating energy sources
  • Automation: Hardware-in-the-loop testing of control systems
  • Aerospace: Development and testing of safety-critical electronics; satellite testing
