Reliable measurement of rotational speed, surface speed and temperature is crucial for the maintenance, servicing and diagnosis of machines. Modern combination devices make it possible to record several measured variables with just one instrument - contactless from a safe distance or directly via contact measurement. This allows operating conditions to be assessed quickly, overheating to be detected and failures to be prevented at an early stage.

Typical applications can be found on motors, conveyor systems, fans, belt drives and other rotating or moving parts. Non-contact measuring methods offer a high degree of safety and convenience, especially for components that are difficult to access or rotate quickly.

The Extech RPM10 is a versatile combination measuring device comprising a photo/contact tachometer and integrated infrared thermometer. In addition to precise speed measurements, the device enables the non-contact measurement of the surface temperature of motors and rotating components. The integrated laser is used as an aiming aid for both IR temperature measurement and optical speed measurement.

In photo mode, the RPM10 measures speeds from a distance of up to 2 m, while linear surface speeds can also be recorded in contact mode. The large, 5-digit LCD ensures clear readability. Measured values for minimum, maximum and the last measured value are automatically saved. The robust, double-molded housing makes the RPM10 a reliable tool for industrial and technical use.
