Description

EL9080-170B2Q2U | Stock sale 2 quadrant extension for PS/PSI9000 series 80V/170A, 2400W (DT2720_2305_L)

The EA-EL9000B2Q series are electronic loads that are designed for „two-quadrant operation" and were developed as an extension to the EA-PS9000, EA-PSI9000 and EA-PSE9000 series power supplies. These electronic loads ensure improved dynamics in the event of voltage changes.

To achieve this, the loads are connected with their input directly to the output of the power supply unit. The devices are also connected via a share bus, which is used to control the load from a compatible power supply unit.

The loads are configured by default to operate at full power, full current and minimum voltage in the network. If other parameters need to be configured, this is done via remote control, e.g. with software such as EA Power Control

Two-quadrant operationThere are many possible applications for „two-quadrant operation" (2Q, 2QB), e.g. the energy released when a motor brakes can be absorbed. This protects both the motor and the power supply unit from excessive voltage. Furthermore, different batteries and other energy storage devices can be tested or their functionality simulated. A battery can be both charged and discharged and, when operated on a power supply unit, very short drop-off times can be achieved with dynamic voltage curves by discharging the loads that are usually present in power supply units.

Control unitThe devices are primarily controlled via the share bus of the power supply units and do not need to be operated any further. For special applications, however, all parameters can be set via the available interfaces. The status of the device is displayed on the front via colored LEDs. The USB port on the front provides quick access to the most important setting values for the DC input, such as set values (current/voltage etc.) or protection values (OCP, OPP etc.).

Share busThe „Share bus" on the rear of the devices is used to set up a two-quadrant system with laboratory power supply units from the EA-PSI9000, EA-PS9000 or EA-PSE9000 series in order to implement special test systems for testing DUTs according to the source-sink principle. The share bus also enables current balancing of identical device models from this series in parallel connection as a power extension.
